1. Isolation Switch – ON. 2. Throttle to RPM – SLOW.
PARTIAL POWER FAILURE 500 – 12,000 Ft.:-
1. Throttle – IDLE. 2. Isolation Switch – ON. 3. Power – SET.
PARTIAL POWER FAILURE >12,000 Ft.:- 1. Throttle – IDLE. 2. Isolation Switch – ON. 3. INCREASE Power IMMEDIATELY To:- (a) 60% 12,000 – 18,000 Ft. (b) 80% > 18,000 Ft
N.B. WITH AFRCU ISOLATED, MAKE ALL CHANGES VERY SLOWLY (NO RPM LIMITER).
LOW PRESSURE FUEL or OIL:-
N.B. Oil Pressure BELOW 1.2kg/cm for 2 Mins., RTB as Above.
EMERGENCY UNDERCARRIAGE LOWERING:-
(a) 1. Hydraulic Circuit – BLEED (Cock on LEFT). 2. Gear & Flaps Normally – LOWER. IF This FAILs Then do (b).
(b) 1. BELOW 250 K., 100 bar – CHECK. 2. SEC ‘B’ switch Cycle & C.Bs. 3. Emg. Hand Valve – OPEN, 4. LEAVE U/C DOWN
EMERGENCY FLAP LOWERING:-
1. C.Bs. & SEC. ‘B’ – CHECK 2. 250 K, Hand Valve – OPEN. |
RELIGHT – HOT START:-
1. Throttle – CLOSE. 2. Air Start – PRESS. IF NO GO:- 3. HP Cock – OFF, Air Start – OFF. 4. 30 – 40 Seconds – WAIT. 5. N.E. Electrics – OFF.
RELIGHT – COLD START:-
1. Throttle – CLOSED. 2. 250 K – NE Electrics – OFF. 3. C.Bs – LIVE – 10-15% WINDMILL. 4. AirStart – PUSH. 5. HP Cock – ON – AirStart – OFF.
N.B. IF Windmilling BELOW 10% USE Ground Start.
ENGINE FIRE:-
1. Throttle – CLOSED. 2. HP Cock – OFF. 3. SPEED to HEIGHT. 4. BELOW 240 K – Fire Button – PRESS. 5. NO RELIGHT.
GENERATOR FAILURE:-
1. Switches & C.Bs – CHECK. 2. Load – REDUCE & RTB.
N.B. After 20 Minutes EXPECT EMG. U/C & FLAPS

Spark plugs igniting -listen for sparking
Throttle -idle
FUEL SHUT-OFF lever -fully OPEN
EGT (APU 700 degrees
BATT 750 degrees) -keep manually within
Fuel/ oil pressure -rising limits
Idle RPM -35% within 60 sec’s
APU -disconnect
Fuel pressure -12 kg’s
Oil pressure -0.5 kgs
EGT (idle) 550’c MAX
GENERATOR light -out
FALSE START/ HOT START
Stop the engine immediately if one of the following occurs
– no sparking of spark plugs
– No oil pressure indication
– EGT exceeds 750’c
The engine must be stopped if there is;
– no RPM rise
– Idle RPM 35% is not reached after 60 sec’s
– Oil pressure stays below 0.5 kg’s
To stop the engine
– Throttle idle
– FUEL SHUT OFF lever -CLOSED
In case of fire continue with the following steps;
